Progress evaluation 1

1) My first shot is a shot of the people's hands in a festival, this shot reminded me a lot of the one i have choosen, it's in Dont you worry child by Swedish House Mafia, it isn't completely the same shot, but they look similar.

2) This other shot is quite similar to the first one, but what i was looking out is the way that on the back of the shot you see the smoke  and the lights, this also happens in the same video from Swedish House Mafia.

3) This is a shot of one of my main characters in my movie, he is smoking a cigarette and it's a close up of his face wearign sun glasses, this shot looks alike with many different shots in French Inhale by Wiz Khalifa and Snoop dog, i choosen the one i though looked the more alike.

4) This is an other shot of the festival but this time at night time with different lights and from a different angle and you also see the screens, in Steve Aoki's videoclip of In Time you also see the same thing wth the lights and the sreens.

5) Here we see a shot of one of my other main characters, he is dancing with his hand in the air with other people around, it's a clear medium shot, the i loocked at Kid Cudi's video of Project X and found this girl doing the same movement as my actor in my video.

6) This is shot of an actor moving while being aslleep after a great a long night out, and i remember that Steve Aoki had a shot like this had the beggining of one of his videos, then i did some research and found it. It's called No beef and he did it with Afrojack.

7) I really like this shot, it was taken in germany of the boys daning in the street and i remembered quickly that Nicky Romero's Toulouse's video had a lot of daning in the street.

8) Medium shot of the city of Venice, Italy. Looks really similar to the shot of LMFAO's videoclip in One Day.

9) This last shot is a close up of someone laughing and smiling, this other is in the same video of LFMAO.

Flat plan

My flat plan.

Advert

This is my advert.
I used a photo of one of the main actors in my music video, we are many people in my video so it was hard to choose what photo do it with. I finally decided to just use basic and normal font. I also changed the photot to black and white.

Ancillary task 6

The sales of CD’s has gone down a lot in the last 5 years, it’ a disaster. Artists are many producing and music companies are losing ridiculous amounts of money, every year its worst.

Nowadays people just download all there music, even if of course everyone has CD’s in their houses and they still buy a couple of CD’s if they have to. But the downloading world is everywhere now, there is millions of different websites where you can download music, some of them are legal and you have to pay for your songs. Like ITUNES and they then takes a profit but the artists still gain money from it. But also what’s the problem really is, is the illegal downloading for free. Millions of people don’t pay for their music; it’s easy and takes no time at all.

Artist now make more money from Concerts, festivals advertising and even with clothes like T- shirts or caps or even posters, this music world is going down and it is a nightmare for the majority of the artists.

Ancillary task 3: CD VS DIGIPAK

CD cases and digipaks are really different.

For my project I am going to be doing a digipack. A digipak looks just like a cd from the outside but then when you open it; it’s got 6 sides made of cardboard. As it includes 6 sides, artists can put a lot more information about their songs and about that album, also they use it to promote for photographs, montages or even drawings and artwork.
Yes, they are more expensive to make than a normal CD case but more useful. It makes people look at it more and makes them want to buy more because it’s more completed than a CD case.

A CD case has just 2 sides plus a card on the inside to give a little information about their album.

In my own digipack I am going to have =

·         The name of the artist

·         Photos from the artist and from the people involved in my video

·         The names of the songs

·         The album title

·         The producing company

·         A barcode

·         Maybe ( information about the video )

Ancillary task, Digipak/CD/Album adverts: 2

This is the original advert for Mika's CD.

This is the one i made i used the same image changing all the colours, the saturation and the perspective. I also played a lot with the contrast and the brightness of the image.

I also though of trying black and white and changing more things but i didn't think it looked to good...

Ancillary task 7

This is the front of my digipack.

This is the back of my digipack, it's photo of the sunset on the sea, where we were while filming this video on my eurotrip. ->

This is my flatplan completed with the 6 photos that i am using.

Ancillary task 4

I have been looking at many different artist in the the same type of music of my song, and how they produce their CD's cover and most of them is always a photo of the singers or of someone in one of their videoclip but i also realised that many of them don't use any photography they also use a lot of ddrawing and montages.

RULES
One of the main rules is to always have the name of the artist or group, normally in big wirtting but sometimes the album name is also as big or even bigger.
There is often the name of the producing company, like we can see in the first picture with Parental Advisory.
Creative font.
Colours.

Ancillary task 1

Ancillary task

I have been looking and studying about how artists promote themselves to get to a point where some people know them and start listening to their music.

Many artists use different ways to promote themselves. Now a days in most of the cases they try to put their own songs on different media websites most likely YouTube but in many others as well like Facebook, Twitter and some also make their own blog with all their music.

A good way to promote yourself is getting a manager or an agent involved in the music world, because the you have contact, the manager then just works for promoting the artist, lets people know the artist exist and let them see his work.
